Process
We all have experiences that cause us pain that can inflict deep wounds, which can manifest as barriers in our lives. This really makes it difficult for us to fully engage in our lives in the way we want. Sometimes our innermost wounds can create a space where it's hard to feel at home within ourselves. My hope is to help you acknowledge, understand, and navigate through your patterns and emotions to move closer to what gives you deeper insight and meaning. I use an integrative approach with a variety of therapeutic modalities to better meet your individual needs. I often draw upon therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Self-Compassion, Adlerian, Emotion-Focused, and Mindfulness based therapy. Together we can work to help you move through your painful inner experiences and engage with them in a way that is more mindful, compassionate, and curious. My goal is to support you in connecting with your values and inner strengths to move you closer to a place of inner knowing.
I strive to create a space that is non judgmental, open, safe, and caring, where you can feel comfortable, respected, and heard. Becoming more aware of our inner dialogue and our own personal narrative can help us recognize the story that has been constructed in our life. When we understand our story, we understand ourselves. When we gain insight into ourselves, it allows us to gain clarity that can move us toward mindfully connecting with our lives and reclaiming our sense of self. The way we are able to discover our needs is through working to mindfully expand our awareness around emotional experiences in our mind and body. By expanding our attention we are better able to recognize how they affect our behaviours, our relationships, and our current reality. We can't change what we are unable to recognize.
